Interesting commentary from the US re the acquisition of Smithfield by Shuanghui…the protectionist nature of much of the commentary in the papers once again demonstrates the challenge of capital flows from East to West especially China. The situation is somewhat muddied with the limited access that Western companies have in China….but the choices are relatively simple, particularly in a business which was, as described today, ‘too volatile’
